Donations
Raised Local - Stays Local

BCAK is supported by community donations and memberships. We do not receive any government funding.

All of our funding is raised and used in Kingston and the South East Ontario Cancer Region.

Your membership fee and donations enable us to provide programs and services to local residents and to support local breast cancer research.

At BCAK, ALL the funds we raise are used in our local area to help provide:

  • Support programs and services to local breast cancer patients, survivors and their families.

  • Education about breast cancer to all residents in our region.

  • Support for local research projects that directly benefit persons affected by breast cancer.

  • Programs for survivors.

  • Financial aid to cancer patients who find themselves unable to cover their expenses.

BCAK is volunteer-led and volunteer-driven – we have one, part-time paid employee and we strive to keep our operating costs at a minimum so that more of our funds can be used to directly support our programs and services.

You can make a difference....

Please give generously to help us continue to help others.

Donations In Kind

Women who have breast cancer often acquire books and other reference materials, as well as special clothing, prostheses and equipment to help them deal with their illness. |f you no longer need these items you may wish to donate them to BCAK. They will be used to help others still fighting their battle with cancer.

Donations in Memoriam

When you lose a family member or friend, you can honour your loved one by donating “In Memoriam” to BCAK.  In Memoriam Cards  to make a donation to BCAK in memory of your loved one can be obtained from the BCAK office or at local funeral homes – the funeral home will send the donation and information to us. All donations we receive are valued and much appreciated by BCAK. We thank all of our In Memoriam donors and remember their loved ones. Whether using an In Memoriam card or the online donation form, we will send an acknowledgement of your donation to surviving family members. In addition, both the donor’s name and who the donation is in memory of will be mentioned in the next issue of our monthly newsletter.

Bequests

Another way to donate to BCAK is to name us as a beneficiary in your will. If you are considering a bequest, please call our office at 613-531-7912 and leave a message for our treasurer. Your donation will be used to support our programs and services as needed.  If you wish, you may request that your donation be directed to a specific program offered by BCAK. A receipt for income tax purposes will be issued to the donor for amounts of $20 or more.
