Exercise
Fitness at BCAK
All classes are held in BCAK’s multi-purpose room at 110-650 Dalton Ave. The entrance is at the west end of the building. Please enter through the side door.
Morning exercise classes are open to breast cancer survivors with a current paid up BCAK membership, evening classes are open to all members. To become a member please, visit our Membership Page.
All participants require the approval of their physician to participate in our exercise classes.
During COVID: Classes are restricted to survivors only until further notice. Due to number restrictions in the gym, classes are no longer "drop-in"; participants must pre-register with Willie Kyer. Participants are asked to register for one class only. Instructors are not permitted to physically assist those unfamiliar with proper moves and alignment, so at this time, only participants who have previously attended are permitted to join.
If you are interested in joining the class, we kindly ask that you first contact our office so that we can put you in touch with our Fitness Coordinator, Willie Kyer.
Exercise Class Schedule
Monday 10:30am - 11:30am with Tim Bell. Focuses on joint movement, breathing techniques and strength training through isometric exercises. There is no cardio component in this class.
Tuesday 10:30am - 11:30am with Sharon Allen. A traditional mixed fitness class beginning with cardio, strength training, balance and stretching.
Tuesday 5:30pm – 6:30pm with Elizabeth Cochrane. Focuses on all around strengthening and toning. POSTPONED UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2022
Wednesday 9:15 - 10:00 with Jane Martin. Focuses on toning. Please note that beginning on June 1st, the start time of the Wednesday morning fitness class with Jane Martin will change to 10:15 am.
Thursday 10:30am – 11:30am with Tim Bell. Focuses on joint movement, breathing techniques and strength training through isometric exercises. There is no cardio component in this class.
Yoga
Yoga is a practice that combines stretching, controlled breathing and relaxation. It helps to lower blood pressure, improve heart function, reduce stress and calm body, mind and spirit.

Regular Yoga Classes
Thursday evening 6:00pm - 7:00 pm with Kathy Kennedy. POSTPONED UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2022
Friday morning 11:30am – 12:30pm with Tina Beaudin
